Written and directed by John Esaki, the film was shown at\n  \n   Days of Remembrances\n  \n  and other events.\n  \n   William Hohri\n  \n  , a frequent critic of the JACL, wrote a letter to Japanese American vernacular papers that compared the video to \"how history was manipulated in the old Soviet Union\" noting the omission of the\n  \n   corm nobis cases\n  \n  and non-JACL contributors to the movement. In response, Cherry Kinoshita, the JACL's national redress chair, noted the video's goal \"to document JACL's role in the redress effort,\" and not to tell a comprehensive story of redress.\n  \n\n    [1]","url_title":"Redress: The JACL Campaign for Justice (film)","categories":["Arts","Redress"],"rg_rgmediatype":["films"],"rg_interestlevel":["Grades 6-8","Grades 9-12","Adult"],"rg_genre":["Documentary"],"rg_theme":["Injustice","Rights - individual or societal"],"rg_availability":["Limited availability"],"rg_rgmediatype_label":"Films and Video","rg_rgmediatype_icon":"fa-film"}],"query":{"query":{"bool":{"filter":[{"term":{"published_rg":true}},{"term":{"rg_pov":"Men and women activists"}}]}},"_source":["title","url_title","description","body","categories","coordinates","fulltext","rg_rgmediatype","rg_interestlevel","rg_readinglevel","rg_theme","rg_genre","rg_pov","rg_availability","rg_geography","rg_chronology","rg_hasteachingaids","rg_freewebversion"]},"aggregations":{}}
